So, it probably won’t have escaped your notice (you, one of the very few who are reading this, and doubtless beginning to be royally pissed off by the repetition) that Brand Loyalty is on a free giveaway in an attempt to raise visibility of this contemporary dystopic novel which should, SHOULD, be of interest to a wide range of people (if comments on FB are to be believed, which clearly they aren’t – and indeed that is one of the many strands running through the book – it’s the ULTIMATE irony!)
Well, because we don’t like to just bombard you with the same stuff time and again, we wanted to give you word of how, if you wanted to, you could even get three great books for under a fiver.
Cast your mind back. The McRenegades pre-Christmas rant about Bookfellas. Catch it here. A few months on, what has changed? Well, over at Bookfellas (we looked this morning) there are some 26 men signed up, some 10 of them still to ‘confirm’ their projects and the clock is ticking to their April deadline. And we’ve heard nothing else about or from them since the announcement. Perhaps we should take heart in that they seem to be as crap as us at actually promoting reading or getting folk to read books (or even download them) We’re not in the business of raising £50k – well, Mark Frankland is, but it’s to feed people and keep the heating on, he’ll throw in reading matter for free, but the three authors here mentioned today are NOT doing it for the money or the kudos. They are doing it because they have stories they believe in, that should, that’s SHOULD speak to a lot of people. If only we could throw enough mud at the wall, lift the cloak of invisibility… etc etc. So, we don’t know what the Bookfellas are up to this fine Sunday, but this is what McRenegade Book Cuifs and Quines are doing:
Here is our big Sunday treat -
Today you can get
Brand Loyalty FREE ebook HERE
The Bookies Runner FREE ebook HERE
When Broken Lives Mend for £3 (goes to charity) ebook HERE ( You can read it free on his blog and just donate to charity if you prefer.
If you’ve already got one or more of these books, then please tell someone else you know to download (and read) them. There’s always something you can do. We’re not asking for money (except for charity) but we’re asking for a wee bit of your time.
Do you want reviews, recommendations or for us to pull our skirts up short, or strip to the waist or generally reduce ourselves to grovelling beggars – please read our books – well, you know what – we’re McRenegades and we don’t do that. We’re just here to tell you they exist. The rest is up to you. It’s your choice. If you want to know what they are about – read them. 3 books for £3 is hardly robbery now is it? Take a risk. Or if you’re risk averse, do some research and find out about them for yourself. It’s not that hard.
When it comes down to it, we’re blogging here (our feeble attempt at ‘advertising’ or ‘marketing’ because we believe in these books. They represent the honest heart and soul of some very ordinary, but we like to think, pretty decent people. They are an attempt to communicate to other ordinary decent people. There are no bells, whistles, ‘award winning’ or celebrity temptations or endorsements because those things don’t matter a damn unless you’re trying to make money. Which is not our aim (charity fundraiser aside!) Our aim is to find readers. To share. To remind you that the world doesn’t just belong to the elites – unless we all privilege them – and that it’s our world too. Up to you which world you live in. But the Book Cuifs and Quines challenge you to spend £3 today, download three books. READ THEM. Respond. Honest Review. Pay it forward – recommend to a friend. Do something good this Sunday. Read a book and change the way you see the world.
Now: Here are some stats. Because we know you love them! And to prove to you what an Ultimate nonsense it is to commodify books and equate it with ‘success.’

that's all we've got. Stats. Reason. Humour? Repetition - a belief that the money that could be spent promoting these books is better spent on people and animals in distress rather than feeding the coffers of corporate capitalism. The rest is up to you. We can't make ourselves any more visible. You want us to become Twitter trend you'll have to throw some mud at the walls yourselves.
More updates will be available as soon as we can think of another entertaining way to tell the same story!
